WHA residents are invited to our annual conference on Wednesday July 25th, which this year features a free treasure hunt!

Families are encouraged to come along to The Gateway to find the clues and win prizes – with the top prize being a brand new tablet computer.

Free children’s activities will include face painting, balloon modelling and arts and crafts. The adults can meet WHA staff and learn more about our work, have their say on a variety of topics using the interactive boards, register to become an association volunteer, find out how to use the new WHA website and engage in money advice workshops.

Other organisations such as LifeTime, WHiA, Warrington Voluntary Action, Footsteps and United Utilities will also be available to provide information, advice and support in their relevant areas.

Free lunch and refreshments will also be provided at the event.

Beth Blenkinship, Community Development Officer said: “Across the association there is real excitement about the change in this year’s conference. Our past conferences have proven popular, but we are wanting to engage with many more of our residents – including families and young people – as their views and opinions are really important to us and can shape the way we do our work. We hope that creating an interactive and family friendly event for our annual conference will be just the start of more family events and activities for our residents.”

Mum of one and Grappenhall resident Diana, is really looking forward to bringing her five year old son to the conference and believes it is important that the association engages with the families and younger residents. Diana said: “Changing attitudes of people [towards the conference] is important because there are young people out there who need to be heard.”

When Diana’s son Leo was asked what he would be excited about when coming to the conference he replied: “The treasure hunt and face painting.”

The Annual Conference is a completely free event open to all residents of Warrington Housing Association and it is taking place on Wednesday July 25th 12pm – 4pm at the Gateway, Sankey Street Warrington. All residents will be receiving an invitation to the event in the coming weeks and residents must register their attendance as places are limited. To register attendance or find out more about this year’s conference please contact the WHA office on 01925 246810 or email admin@wha.org.uk
