Annual Report 2017/18 - Delivering on Our Ambitions

  • We have improved the way we demonstrate the value we add and in 2018, we plan to produce our first “Social Accounts,” aiming to ensure that every penny we spend is being spent well and has a positive impact on the people we serve.
  • As you will see from our “social value” section ensuring that our customers maximise their income is a key part of what we do.   For example, last year, with our help, our customers directly benefited from £256,928.03 in additional income through welfare and other grants.   This year we want to increase this figure further with a target of £286,000.
  • In May, our LifeTime service beat eight other shortlisted organisations to scoop the Northern Housing Award in Resident Support/Advice programme of the Year.

We also continue to thrive in other areas:

  • Towards the end of the year the Government conducted an In-Depth Assessment (IDA) of Warrington Housing Association, for which we achieved the G1 and V1 ratings – the highest of the four available grades.
  • We produced our first performance measures based on the Government’s new “Sector Scorecard” and we have used these results to help support a performance management culture across WHA.
  • Focussing on our people, we have provided staff with the training & tools to start promoting what we do more widely and creating an organisation built on trust where our success is enjoyed and shared.

Our ambition for the future continues, during 2018 we will be developing our long term business plan for the Gateway in Warrington, a building Warrington Housing Association is proud to have established, and proud to still be a part of.   We will be looking to ensure that the Gateway remains an attractive offer to current and future customers and is able to deliver its continued aim to be the bridge between the local community, public sector and voluntary/community organisations. We also plan to refurbish our own offices, providing our staff with a 21st century working environment, supporting our offer to customers and we will continue to deliver on our corporate strategy.

Please take the opportunity to browse through our Annual Report to find out about all the things we accomplished during 2017/18 and see how our five pillars have guided our work, investments and decisions.

Our five pillars:

  • Our Viability
  • Our Social Value
  • Our People
  • Our Assets
  • Our Neighbourhoods
