Staff and customers had a right royal knees up for the Jubilee celebrations

Wow – our customers and staff really celebrated the Platinum Jubilee in right royal style.

From the smallest gesture of providing householders with Union Jack bunting to a huge party for the members of WHA’s over 50s centre – we think we did the Queen’s magical milestone proud.

Tenants in our retirement living schemes across borough – Raven Court, Epsom Gardens, St Johns Court, Lyon Court and Lowry Close – dressed up in red, white and blue and toasted Her Majesty with some fizz at afternoon teas, played games and danced through the decades accompanied by singer Phil McKean.

We are delighted more than 70 members from our over 50s centre LifeTime enjoyed a Jubilee party at Winmarleigh House so much they also fundraised for more LifeTime events in the future.

Bernie Hubble our Customer Voice Officer said: “The whole week was full of wonderful celebrations for our residents and the members of LifeTime. The feedback was excellent, with partygoers saying that after the past two years it has been lovely to get together and celebrate something so special as the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

“The effort put in by our staff and residents was amazing from the dressing up of the venues, baking cakes, making food and entering into the spirit fully to celebrate our Queen. We are hoping that we can keep the party feeling alive by planning many events during the summer months to continue bringing neighbours and LifeTime members together.”
