Partnership Working

Over the last 12 months we have been able to offer a range of services that go beyond our provision of housing.  All these services are community focused and allow us to ensure that we make Warrington a great place to live, in which the potential of individuals and communities can be realised.   Working with these partners has allowed us to fulfil this potential.

Our Community Development Officer has been working with Jan Tudor from Warrington Borough Council’s Neighbourhood Team to support the Hood Manor Estate Committee.  Jan has been attending the meetings for a number of months, since reassignment to the area and is proving great support to the group and providing them with different opportunities.

Recently the Committee held their own Family Fun Day, where they had different activities for children including large games, face painting and arts and crafts and information stalls from WHA Money Advice and Community Development, Warrington Voluntary Action, WBC Neighbourhood Team, WBC Energy Conservation and RAF Burtonwood.  This event was run in conjunction with WHA and Warrington Borough Council.

Jan plans to continue to work with our Community Development Officer over the next 12 months to continue to support Estate Committee.

At this year’s Annual Conference tenants had the opportunity to engage with a range of external organisations in the ‘Information Hub’.  Organisations were invited to come along to the event and provide information and advice to our tenants throughout the day.

Our tenants found this a very useful tool and enjoyed having plenty of time to engage with the organisations they felt could give them information and support in different areas.

The organisations found it a very useful event with some of them engaging with over 40 tenants throughout the day and getting referrals for a range of services.  They felt the event was well organised and that the Treasure Hunt element of the conference definitely encouraged some of the tenants to engage with them.  They all indicated that they would be happy to attend again.
