The residents at Lowry Close will often enjoy a catch up with each other over a brew and cake, regularly attending the weekly coffee mornings and popping round to each other’s flats for a catch-up. However, the current situation has put a pause on these get-together’s but, Margaret Whitley hasn’t let this stop her neighbours from enjoying a sweet treat.
Regular baker Margaret, often bakes for the coffee mornings and other events at Lowry Close and her cakes are always a hit with everyone. So, despite everyone being in lockdown, Margaret wanted to try and spread some joy through her very own cake delivery service!
Margaret said ‘I love to bake and will happily whip up a cake or some biscuits if needed. I’ve even been trying to make bread recently. During this time when we are all stuck indoors I am baking more than ever, so what better way to make your neighbours smile, than by delivering some baked goodies.’
At 101 and one of our oldest residents at Lowry, Stella is very grateful for regular deliveries through her window!
