Warrington Home Information and Improvement Agency is a non-profit advisory service for older, disabled or vulnerable people and families on low incomes who own their own homes or live in private rented accommodation and wish to repair, improve or adapt their homes. We are here to help and support you through the whole process of any work you may wish to undertake.
More about the services we offer….
Repairs & Improvements. If you need work doing to your home, but are not confident about getting someone in to do it or you're not sure you can afford it, give us a call. We will then make an appointment to visit you in the privacy of your own home and discuss the options open to you, ensuring full confidentiality at all times. |
| |
If you want us to, we will arrange to get estimates from proven, reliable tradesmen and we'll even supervise the work being done from start to finish - no matter how big or small the job.
We will advise and assist on all types of repair and adaptation work including:
- Windows and doors
- Plumbing
- Electrical repairs/re-wiring
- Adaptations for coping with disabilities or infirmity
- Locks and security measures
- Storm damage
- Wet and dry rot
- Roof repairs
- Or any other repair problems
Free Advice. All advice is absolutely free. If you then decide to use our services further, such as asking us to get estimates and oversee the work, there may be a small administration charge, which helps to support the Whia service. The Whia Officer will advise you of any costs before you commit yourself to them.
We can first of all check that you're receiving all the benefits you're entitled to. Then we'll look at other options such as:
|
- Local authority grants
- Building Society interest only loans
- Maturity loans and equity release packages
- Benefit Agency Social Fund grants and loans
- House insurance claims
- Other organisations who may
And don't worry, we'll explain everything simply, so you'll understand exactly how much you'll have to pay back and when. You can then make an informed decision as to whether or not you want to go ahead and have the work done.
And There's More… Depending on local funding and initiatives, we are also able to provide a variety of extra services. These include fitting security and safety measures, and carrying out small repairs and adaptations. If you are interested in any of these, please contact us at the Gateway, Warrington.
