Charity begins at Warrington Housing Association

Warrington Housing Association has presented a cheque for £1,137.65 to Breast Cancer Care.

Lynn Woodger and Gaynor Atherton at Warrington Housing Association, made the presentation to Margaret Worriner from Breast Cancer Care at The Gateway in Warrington.

The money was raised by employees at The Association through a number of fundraisings events, including a series of sponsored races and raffles.  

The Association also took an innovative approach to raising funds by going green, recycling its old hardware and repairing old PCs for employees in return for a donation.

Claire Harris, Resources Director, says: “Every year the staff selects a different charity and set about raising as much money as possible.   Breast Cancer Care is a very worthy cause, one that is close to many of our hearts.

“The whole team got involved with the fundraising and we are very pleased to present a cheque for £1,137.65 to Margaret.”

For 2010/11, Warrington Housing Association will be raising money for The British Heart Foundation.
